Vermiculite is a natural mineral which is light weighted, odorless and fire resistant and is used for the production of various products even used of attic insulation. The size of this mineral varies from particle size to large size. When this vermiculite was mined from Libby, it contained asbestos that causes severe health hazard and is harmful for health. But the vermiculite from US contains less amount of asbestos and you can use it for insulation. You must be concern about your Vermiculite Insulation because if the children play over the insulation it may be a problem for your vermiculite insulation.
